WESTJET NAMED TO CORPORATE CULTURE HALL OF FAME
WestJet announced today that it has been inducted into Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures Hall of Fame at an awards gala hosted by Waterstone Human Capital. WestJet has claimed the top spot in Waterstone's study of Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures for the past four years.  Please note that organizations must have been named to Waterstone Human Capital's Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures program four times in order to be inducted to the Hall of Fame.

INTRAWEST TO SELL B.C. RESORT
Panorama Mountain Village
Intrawest to sell Panorama Mountain Village resort to group of locals; resort will accept all 2010 lift tickets and passes as usual
In a last-ditch attempt to stave off foreclosure at the hands of creditors, Intrawest ULC agreed on Thursday to sell its Panorama Mountain Village resort to a group of locals and business owners led by a former town mayor, reported the CBC. Panorama Mountain Village is on the B.C. side of the Rocky Mountains, about two hours outside of Banff. The proposed sale has the newly formed Panorama Mountain Village Inc. taking over control of the resort's on-mountain ski operations, gaining a 50 per cent stake in the Greywolf Golf Course, all of Intrawest's commercial operations and lodgings in the village and any land available for development. Japan Airlines announced today the formation of a new executive management team for both the Japan Airlines Corporation (JALS) and its main operating company, Japan Airlines International (JALI). The changeover takes effect on February 8, 2010 and will reduce the number of executive officers by 11 members and removes the position of the managing executive officer. Created to support BC’s tourism industry to incorporate more sustainable business practices, ETHOS, which stands for ‘Engaging Tourism and Hospitality Operators in Sustainability’, is launching into 2010 with a new website and travel calculator, over a dozen new partnerships, tools and programs in its goal to position BC as one of the most sustainable tourism destinations in the world.  The organization’s website, located at ethosbc.com, went live on January 1, 2010.  On the website, tourism operators can log on and join ETHOS.
