Yesterday afternoon, the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted a media luncheon at Goldfish Restaurant in Yaletown, Vancouver. Phillip Jones, president and CEO, Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, welcomed attendees and discussed tourism trends and why travellers should make their way to “the big D.” According to Jones, 300,000 Canadians visit Dallas, Texas each year with most western Canadian visitors coming from Calgary; Vancouver a close second. “And, we want more” said Jones. Jack E. Mannix, CTC, president and CEO of Ensemble Travel Group, has resigned effective immediately, according to a joint communication released by Mannix and Ensemble Travel Group. Mannix, who lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area, has commuted to New York for over eight years as he led Ensemble Travel Group. Mannix has resigned for personal reasons to spend more time with his family.
