Results of just completed surveys of travel agent and cruise line members of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) have revealed luxury and river cruising trends. CLIA member cruise lines specializing in luxury and river cruises say they plan to expand offerings in order to meet rising demand, and attract more customers by focusing on what they want most: new experiences and exotic destinations around the world. The Hong Kong Tourism Board reports record number of visitor arrivals; 6.8% growth from Canada
Figures just released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) show a record number of visitor arrivals in Hong Kong in the first six months of 2010. The exact figure reached 16,856,016. This figure represents not only a year-on-year increase of 23.1 per cent, but also the highest half-yearly figure ever recorded. Also reaching a new record was the arrival figure for the month of June alone, which increased by 43.5 per cent to reach 2,619,722. [Full text and pictures]
