Last Thursday, Transat Holidays and Nolitours hosted “Endless Summer” at Monk McQueens in Vancouver to promote their fall and winter product. As Carlo Trinidad, director of sales for Western Canada pointed out, “follow the sun when it’s gone here and you will have an endless summer.” Highlighting the western Canadian market, Air Transat is now offering flights from Saskatoon (to Varadero and Punta Cana) and Regina (to Varadero, Punta Cana, Cancun, Riviera Maya, Peurto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit) this year. Air Canada grounds direct service from Regina and Saskatoon to Ottawa

Starting this fall, Saskatchewan air travellers will no longer be able to catch a direct flight to Ottawa via Air Canada. The airline says it's suspending non-stop service to the nation's capital from Regina and Saskatoon aboard its Jazz-branded planes, although it may be reinstated next year. The company says starting in October, it will add an additional non-stop daily flight from Regina and Saskatoon to Toronto's Pearson Airport. Passenger numbers at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) have been reported to be on a steady incline for 2010. The passenger count is currently 2.64 per cent ahead of 2009 and less than one per cent behind the all-time high numbers achieved in 2008.
