Sunquest announces December Countdown Calendar promotion
Sunquest is kicking off the month of December with a consumer promotion that will feature limited time deals for every day this month, up until Christmas Eve. This ‘Countdown Calendar’ promotion will feature one deal per day, valid for 24 hours only (12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.), running from Dec. 1 to 24, 2008. These one-day deals will vary by region (Toronto, Montreal and Western Canada gateways) and will feature prices on a number of Sunquest’s Southern Sun packages. [Full text and pictures]


ENERJET OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Enerjet announces completion of technical and safety requirements, and Air Operators License
Enerjet has announced the achievement of two significant milestones. First, the award of an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) by Transport Canada, acknowledging Enerjet's completion of all the technical and safety requirements necessary to operate a commercial air operation in Canada. Secondly, the award of an Air Operators License issued by the Canadian Transportation Agency. The license authenticates that Enerjet has met the ownership requirements. The achievement of these milestones means that Enerjet is now open for business to charter its Boeing 737-700 Next-Generation aircraft.

Windstar Cruises announces Winter Sails Season; receive a $50 American Express gift check
Windstar Cruises has launched its Winter Sails Season giving travel professionals a $50 American Express gift check upon final payment for 2009 cruises booked with a deposit during December 2008. Travel professionals must mention “Windstar Winter Sails Offer” when placing a booking with Windstar to receive the $50 American Express gift check. The $50 American Express gift check will be mailed to travel professionals after final payment has been received by Windstar for the cruise booking. CRUISE WEST'S 5 WEST COAST OPTIONS
Cruise West announces nine itinerary option from five west coast cities
Cruise West has announced domestic departures from five cities in three western states.  Itineraries with domestic departures include the San Juan Islands and British Columbia from Seattle, Washington; three itineraries on the Columbia and Snake Rivers travelling roundtrip from Portland, Oregon; and five Alaska voyages from Juneau, Ketchikan or Anchorage, Alaska. “We understand that many travellers want to maximize their vacation days by travelling closer to home and avoiding the hassle and expense of international travel,” remarked Cruise West president and CEO Dietmar R. Wertanzl. “With so many incredible sights and experiences available here in the United States, guests don’t have to travel far." [Full text and pictures]

THAI AIRPORT REOPENS

The first commercial flight in a week arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday as anti-government protesters ended their siege of the country's two main airports, declaring victory after Thailand's prime minister was ousted by a court ruling. The departure of the People's Alliance for Democracy from the airport ended the country's immediate crisis, which had virtually severed Thailand's air links to the outside world for a week, and stranded more than 300,000 tourists.

For the seventh straight year, Flight Centre has been rated one of the best companies to work for in B.C, according to BC Business Magazine’s annual rankings.  After a ranking of 8th and 11th the past two years, Flight Centre improved to 5th place and will be featured in the magazine’s December 2008 issue.
