AC MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING
An Air Canada flight headed from Winnipeg to Toronto did an emergency U-turn back to Winnipeg this morning when a pilot smelled burning rubber. About 100 people were aboard flight AC260, a 319 Airbus, when it returned just after 8 a.m. The return was a precautionary measure. No fire was discovered but the plane is still being checked over, said Winnipeg Airports Authority spokeswoman Christine Alongi. Air Canada is still determining whether the flight will continue on to Toronto, otherwise passengers will be placed on another eastbound flight.
