Argentina hosts business breakfast for Vancouver agents Janice Strong

| Evangelina Irigoyen | | Twenty representatives from government and businesses in Argentina met almost 100 travel agents at a breakfast at the Four Seasons Hotel on September 30, followed by two hours of one-on-one meetings. “Canadians are coming to Argentina in increasing numbers because of the friendly people, interesting cuisine, traditional culture and diverse beauty,” said Sandra Sallovitz of Destinos Entertprises, organizer of the event. “Vancouver is our first ever event and we plan to do more in the rest of the country.” Government officials included Eduardo Piva, Daniel Aguilera and Evangelina Irigoyen from the Argentina Tourism Board and Silvana Vigatto from Camara Argentina de Turismo INFUETUR.

Espley's career has included 20 years with Accent Inns where, until recently, he held the title of regional sales manager. Espley will continue working closely with community and company partners on sponsorships, promotional opportunities and events. In his former position, Espley worked directly with marketing executives and the director of sales to strengthen the company's profile. Air Canada launches non-stop Fort McMurray-Vancouver flights, continues non-stop Kelowna-Toronto seasonal service
Air Canada announced yesterday that beginning January 5, 2009, it will offer the only daily non-stop service linking Vancouver and Fort McMurray. In addition, Air Canada will restart its non-stop weekend flights between Kelowna and Toronto during the upcoming winter ski season, onboard Air Canada's new 93-seat Embraer 190 aircraft. | BC FERRIES REDUCE SAILINGS |

BC Ferries reduces service due to falling ridership and will use older vessels to cut costs
BC Ferries announced that due to a significant reduction in traffic over the last few months, the company is planning a number of actions this fall and winter to reduce overall operating costs. After the Thanksgiving long weekend some off-peak sailings on major routes serving Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast will be eliminated. “Given current economic uncertainties and reduced traffic, it is only prudent to respond with a more efficient operating strategy as we move into the slower winter period,” said Mike Corrigan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
