The Riviera Maya announces upcoming events, new developments and future openings
The Riviera Maya has announced some new projects for the 2008-2009 season and beyond. Some highlights include: Marriott International has announced that in the next five years it will triple its presence in Mexico, including the Riviera Maya, and will invest more than $1 billion. A 450-room JW Marriott Milla de Oro Resort & Spa and the 150-room Renaissance Milla de Oro Resort are expected to open in the Riviera Maya in 2011. ChinaPac International offers 15-day Tibet tour by train for 2009
With Tibet’s borders re-opening ChinaPac International has re-introduced their 15-day Tibet by Train tour. Pricing starts from $4,249 per person, departing from Vancouver. Travellers will touch down in Beijing and visit Tian’An Men Square, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and the Great Wall of China. On day 6, the tour departs Xining aboard The Holy Train Express. Passengers will wake up to the early morning sunrise in Lhasa. While in Tibet, guests will visit the Potala Palace and explore some of her ancient monasteries. In Chengdu, travellers will have the opportunity to visit the Giant Pandas and take in two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The tour concludes in Shanghai, with visits to the historic Bund waterfront, the Jade Buddha Temple and Shanghai Museum.

The Camping and RVing BC Coalition announce top locations for fall
A new website recently launched by the Camping and RVing BC Coalition and Tourism BC, has provided a listing of camping and RVing options available in the BC area. The Camping and RVing BC Coalition recommend the following nine fall camping locations: Open until October 8, 2008: Redstreak Campground, Kootenay National Park. Open until October 13, 2008: Green Point Campground, Pacific Rim National Park, Tofino; Ponderosa Resort, Canim Lake. Open until October 15, 2008: Blue River Campground, Blue River; Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park; Chimney Lake North Recreation Site. Open until October 31, 2008: Evely Recreation Site, Okanagan Lake. Open All Year: Paradise Valley Campground, Squamish; Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park.
