WestJet launches new seasonal non-stop service between Vancouver and San Francisco and new seasonal non-stop service to/from Kitchener-Waterloo
WestJet announced today the launch of their new seasonal non-stop service between Vancouver and San Francisco. The inaugural flight departed from Vancouver's International Airport at 8 a.m. PDT today. WestJet will fly between Vancouver and San Francisco daily until October 30, 2010. WestJet also announced today the launch of their new seasonal non-stop service between Kitchener-Waterloo and Vancouver. [Full text and pictures]

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) is issuing an open invitation to cruise lines to sit down with ACTA to discuss the increasing controversial issue of non-commissionable fees (NCFs). According to ACTA, over the past half dozen years, cruise lines selling ocean cruises have steadily increased the amount of revenues on which they do not pay commissions to the travel agencies selling these cruises. Dave Calder is appointed new head of sales and marketing for TUI Travel PLC, Canada Trek Escapes has announced the appointment of Dave Calder to the role of head of sales and marketing for TUI Travel PLC, Canada. Dave will be responsible for the Trek Escapes and Trek Holidays teams in Canada as well as Trek’s sister companies ‘Adventure Center’ and ‘iExplore’ in the United States. Dave’s past experiences include working with companies such as Intrawest (vice president of marketing and advertising), the Vancouver Aquarium (vice president for strategic development) and the Toronto Zoo (business development officer). His experience spans 16 years in the sales and marketing field, and according to Trek, Calder is looking forward to working with the wholesale and retail community in Canada and promises exciting changes for the future. |
