More than 130 travel agents attended Transat Holidays’ Europe and Britain training academy at the Marriott Pinnacle hotel in Vancouver on Feb. 7.

The purpose of the training academies are to familiarize agents with Transat’s new Europe and Britain collection for 2012/13 to facilitate sales for the new product.

Christy King, business development supervisor, Western Canada, was speaker at the event.

Paula Rizo, Transat Holidays commercial director for western Canada, was also on hand.

"The numbers were higher than last year, so we're very pleased,", she said.

“We’re just focusing on the new product that we’ve got- our additional flights to Paris and London and Germany, and our new product lineup, “Paris your way” programs and some of the cruise product we have out of Europe,” said Rizo.

Training academy sessions were held in Calgary and Edmonton last week, and are being held in Langley tonight, and Victoria and Winnipeg tomorrow.
