Only Latin America Tours (OLAT) hosted a destination presentation on the company’s Peru tour products at the Best Western hotel in Winnipeg last Wednesday night.
The event familiarized agents with the key selling features of the destination, marked the final stop on OLAT’s cross Canada Peru roadshow, which also stopped in Vancouver and Toronto.
HelloWestTravel.com caught up with Harish Shroff, Eastern sales manager, OLAT and Indus Travels, to hear about the Winnipeg show, and the latest Peru product updates and incentives.
“It was good, the agents really liked it. Only five or six of the agents [there] sell Peru, so they learned a lot of things- it was an eye-opener for them. Now they have more ideas than just [about] Machu Picchu- there’s so much to talk about with Peru,” said Shroff.
Shroff said the presentation, put on in partnership with VOX International, brought forth many new ideas and tips for selling Peru.
OLAT has extensive product range in Peru, from ‘Peru Express’, which explores Cuzco, the centre of the Inca world, and the archaeological sites of the region and a tour of the ancient citadel Machu Picchu, to the ‘Peruvian Amazon River Expedition Cruise’, which includes a luxury cruise down the Amazon River in explorations of remote places along the Amazon by water and on foot, where travellers can spot unusual wildlife and meet with local native people.
Shroff also said OLAT is offering agents 15 per cent commission on Latin American products until Aug. 31, and one per cent cash back at the time of booking.
