Burnaby-based Bestway Tours & Safaris has introduced World Heritage Tours to Africa, the Balkans and Columbia for adventure seeking travellers.
World Heritage Tours include Victoria Falls, Serengeti & Cairo, featuring highlights of Africa. On this 21-day journey, travellers can see the majestic Victoria Falls in Southern Africa, the world’s best game safaris in Eastern Africa at Serengeti National Park, and Lake Manyara Game Parks and end with a walk through history in Egypt. The Egyptian portion also includes cruises on the historic Nile River to see ancient temples in Luxor, Aswan and Edfu, visits of historic Cairo and the pyramids in Giza and Saqqara plus ancient Memphis. 2012 departures will be Aug. 4, Nov. 3 and Dec. 8, and ask about 2013 departures. On The Balkan Mosaic 22-day escorted tour, visitors travel to a collection of 14 World Heritage Sites in the mysterious Balkans. The trip includes stops in Belgrade, Pristina, Skopje, Ohrid, Berat, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Zagreb. The tour offers a trip on the Sargan Eight heritage railroad, and visits to the holy Medjugorje pilgrimage site and the old city of Dubrovnik. 2012 departures will be Sept. 15 with two 2013 departures on May 25 and September 14. Tour cost starts from US$ 4785.
The Columbia World Heritage Discovery is a comprehensive 15-day tour of colorful Columbi. Guests travel to Bogota, San Agustin, the Coffee Cultural Landscape, Cartagena, Santa Cruz de Mompox, and the Tierradentro National Archeological Park. The trip covers five World Heritage Sites, and three different archeological parks. 2012- 13 departures will be every Tuesday, and tour cost starts from US$ 4590 per person.
All tours are led by highly knowledgeable English speaking local guides with most tours being limited to a maximum group size of 16 persons. African safaris are limited to seven participants giving each person a window seat. Tours include first class or best available hotel accommodations, most meals, and inter-country transportation. Some tour costs also include international air. Bestway also customizes tours to suit individual needs.
